Nuci's Space was started following the death of a young musician due to suicide, I believe. It is a non-profit resource center providing counseling and other services and houses very reasonably priced practice rooms with rentals by the hour. In the late 80's thru the mid 90's there were some old refrigerated warehouses off a rail siding which the city had taken over and leased out to local musicians. I was fortunate to participate in some of the best underground jams there. Now all that has been replaced by 'The Classic Center'.
