IMO, a catchy bridge and chorus would complement the verse.

Something simple like Genesis does here; this song is much more up tempo than yours, and to my ear Genesis do a good job of complementing the keyboard hook in the verse line with something tonic, relative, and interesting on the chorus and bridge, completing the song very well.
