He was quite partial to the black background. It’s a lovely photo.

The flowers on those trees come out in late April around here. Landscapers were quite enamored of them for a while back in the 80s and 90s and planted them everywhere. Only trouble is, the blooming trees smell like dirty sweat socks. (the track where I sometimes walk is lined all the way around with them). I think they’ve been labeled as an invasive plant now and are banned.
