"U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst said Tuesday she supports banning Chinese social media apps like TikTok in the United States.

"It's just another way that China is using these various platforms to collect data on us as Americans," she said during a conference call with reporters. "They can use that for subversive techniques like influencing. You know, if you want to talk about influencing elections, China's right up there. So we certainly want to make sure that we are protecting our information our data streams within the United States."

<<snip>>

"TikTok is led by an American CEO, with hundreds of employees and key leaders across safety, security, product, and public policy here in the U.S. We have no higher priority than promoting a safe and secure app experience for our users. We have never provided user data to the Chinese government, nor would we do so if asked," a TikTok spokesperson said in a widely reported statement.

This is what she concerns herself with - trump must be concerned also. I don't believe we have heard her stand on bounties for US soldiers yet, however.
