when we were trying to get out of there yesterday. We were in a priority line because my husband got me in there (I just simply can't walk long distances carrying luggage any more) so I was in a wheelchair. It would have gone a lot smoother except that the guy in front of me must have had dementia. He didn't seem to understand anything and got very upset when the TSA guty told him he had to take his wallet. TSA guy gave him his money and he was somewhat mollified, but he sure held up the line.

Airports are very different. Our regional airport, for instance, doesn't make you take off your jacket if you're over 75. Richmond still does, but doesn't make you go through X-ray, although Orlando does. My assessment of TSA after dealing with them for as long as I have is that it's 99% Kabuki theater and 1% worth something and should be standardized nationwide, and that TSA agents are no better trained than ICEholes, although generally somewhat more pleasant.
