Rank MI Vote says Matt Maddock threatened volunteers at Michigan GOP endorsement convention [View all]
The ballot committee behind a stalled effort to bring ranked choice voting to Michigan said Tuesday that it was working as a vendor last weekend at the state Republican Party endorsement convention in Novi, but it had to be escorted off the property for its own safety after state Rep. Matt Maddock of Milford harassed and threatened the committees volunteers.
Rank MI Vote claimed in a news release that they were forced to vacate the premises due to Maddocks harassment, which reportedly included threats of physical violence and an allegation that Maddock whipped up a group of people to continue the harassment.
Ranked Choice Voting is a nonpartisan reform that gives more choice and more voice to all voters, said Pat Zabawa, Executive Director of Rank MI Vote, in a news release.
