My "facebook" profile was a bit of an oddity anyhow, since nearly 10 years ago I worked an extended contract in a very "red" area. Facebook was all the rage there, I finally got convinced to join up, and for a fewyears it seemed some harmless fun.
I tended to post environmental activism petitions, equality and gay humor stuff.
I wasn't bothered previously when some of them "de-friended" me, after I mentioned what poor taste their highly racist anti-Obama posts were. Still, most of the left/right banter was largely amiable.
Then Trump got *ahem, cough*... elected.
and ostracized would be the friendly term for my "facebook" status. My postings went from fledgling interest at best previously, to crickets, crickets, crickets, and the left-bashing posts from some people I used to know were overwhelming and astonishing any time I linked in.
I believe the last straw for me, however, between the Facebook commandants constantly demanding I fill out my profile with every detail of where I presently live, work and did, was seeing how between the Trumpers, someone who achieved some stupid contrived "status" on the "Farmville" game garnered 89 "likes", while truly dire consequences of global warming were patently ignored.
I jumped off, de-activated my profile, will not return there and marvel how much more useless the "facebook link" below each DU posting has become.
