I recall reading that in the 2016 elections there were 10,000s of voters who voted down ballot but not for president at all.

These were voters who went to the precincts and voted for congressmen, senators, state reps etc. but did not select a candidate for president.

My recollection might be off but the numbers were 80,000 for Detroit, 90,000 for Philadelphia and 160,000 for Miami.

In grad school (Poli-Sci) I remember a paper explaining why 5,000 voters in LA county did not vote for one of the candidates --- they mostly
Wrote in 'Mickey Mouse'. I doubt the voters in Miami, Detroit or Philadelphia did that.

Very easy to delete votes by reprogramming the tabulation software and then erasing the change.
