Pits have the physical jaw, muscle and skull structure to do a lot of damage quickly, and were bred for fighting. Owners who bob ears and tails for fighting don't help. Dog behavior largely reflects responsible human attitudes, but breeds have characteristics, like herding, retrieving, and fighting.

I'm working with a highly traumatized rescue dog now. Big progress.
