A civil war between the 1%. The Old Money wealthy steeped in Property, Vs. the New money Cash rich and invested in stocks and bonds. Looking at it this way will tell you why the GOP is split. The Koch's and the old money is Loving the shutdown. Yes they will lose (Thank You) a bit in the beginning of a collapse, but will reap billions afterwards. The Bankers are land poor and cash and stock rich will have much to lose and will be swan diving from the roof of their banks if the dollar goes kaput!
