(27,948 posts)24. Do be very aware that if you start collecting SS before your full retirement age,
(which I think for you is 66 years and 10 months) and you earn more than $17,040 in a year (and it goes up a bit each year) your benefits will be reduced by $1 for every $2 above that amount. They way it works is they withhold the next year. However, that income may result in a higher SS amount down the road.
But do be very aware so you're not caught by surprise.
You might want to consider delaying collecting SS.
