2. "split water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity" Did I miss where the electricity is produced?

Nuclear? oil? gas? coal? solar? wind? hydro?
From what I have read the least expensive electricity in china is still produced with fossil fuels.
Some areas use hydro but not all..
