3. I'm right there with you

We are watching history re-runs, right before our eyes, and my anxiety issues are outweighing the medication meant to keep it under control.

I am a granddaughter of an immigrant. I am a niece of two uncles who were deployed to Europe during WW ll. One trained fighter pilots in England. One was in the Battle of the Bulge. I am a veteran who is horrified by what's become of the nation I served.

I was also a part of a weekly anti Iraq War demonstration, for about 5 years. We had guns pointed at us. We had cars drive at us. Fortunately these were just cowardly bully tactics used by the purple heart band aid crowd, instead of Neo Nazis. On at least one occasion a black SUV pulled in to where we parked our cars, and men started taking down all of our license plate numbers. Yet I never worried because we were not doing anything illegal.

Now, when I attend rallies and protests I worry that a gun might just go off and a car could likely drive in to the crowd.

I worry about my cousin's wife. She is a Japanese citizen who has held a green card for decades. I worry about their 3 sons who have dual citizenship.

My brother is a school bus driver. In addition to the constant vigilance needed to get the kids to and from school, he's now also having to keep an eye out for any ICE activity so that he can protect any of his at-risk kids.

Right now, live is pretty much an ongoing nightmare.
