businessmen, not so much....

Certainly you will get the money to them as fast as you can and you are correct, that you are not responsible for their business practices.

I ran a small retail store for 18 years and when things got tight, the money came out of my pocket if needed, the bills, taxes and employees were always paid and paid on time or ahead of time.
