Trying to renew an old 80's era wall-mounted light fixture for a bathroom. [View all]

The base is a shiny and slightly corroded chrome/mirror finish. Is there a primer that would cover it well so I could paint it? I'll probably use some type of metallic spray (bronze, flat copper, or graphite). Basically, is there a primer that covers mirrored objects well? TIA
