27. Thank you all for your kind thoughts

My post began as a way to fix in my mind my memories of Felix and I found that song we shared was at the center of our relationship. Sing it to a sick or angry cat and see what happens. Maybe it resonates with his species somehow; the sentiment of it certainly resonates with me. And I found that posting my thoughts and reading your responses has helped me start to heal a little. This is the first time in 30 years we have not had a fur friend in our home (except from one month in 2007 when I was "between cats" though in expectation of two kittens that were still being weaned) and every loss in that time has found healing in the touch of warm fur and the blessed sound of purring. And I will add that the kind thoughts of fellow DUers is also a remedy. Thank you so much.
