8. That would be my preference. I'm just not much of a Christmas person

My family always had a huge get together on Christmas Eve, at my grandparent's house. They had 8 children so I had a lot of cousins. Over the years, the older family has died off and a lot of my cousins moved away.

Grandma always made a pea, onion, potato and mushroom soup. Now I'm the only one who knows how to make that soup. I keep showing people how it's made. It's not that difficult. You just have to get the roux just right. Everyone is bringing something for the meal. My niece and her husband are bringing the roast beef so all I have to handle is a veg dish and the Yorkshire pudding. My friend who adopted Madoc's siblings is a vegan so I'll be sure that some of the veg are butter free. My brother will handle the vegan entree.

One of my nephews got married last year and moved back to Michigan from Florida. It will be fun just to get together. We will eat, drink and be very, very merry.
