Thank you so much for your sweet words, and welcome to DU!

I just felt such honor seeing it and it felt really special to think that they were giving honor and respect, not only to the kitty, but to me, as well. I was bawling my eyes out, of course, and a complete basket case. I didn't know what to do, really, and it just felt "right" to take the kiddo to be amongst the ones that I've had that have already passed. In that way, foolish as it may seem, he became a part of something. He became a part of us.

I've had these moments before in my life, too. I think animal people have connections that transcend the usual. I'm nothing special. I've just learned to recognize when these moments happen, and I am grateful to have seen them happen. They give me hope, and they give me peace.
