then flew to St. John's NFLD. This was a good bit ago, 20 yrs. or so.
Only had a week. Rented a car and drove across the Island on the TransCanada.
Spent 1 night in Grand Falls, then reached
Cow's Head. Stayed in a motel with.resto across the street,, plus a highly entertaining dinner theater no less. From there to Gros Morne where you can take a boat tour around the lake. The next day we went to l'Anse aux Meadows. Then headed
back toward St. John's, stopping at Twillingate on the way. All in all, delightful.
People were great. Saw caribou, moose, and puffins. Avalon Peninsula accent sounds a bit like being in Galway.

Sorry to ramble..if you want a reading recommendation Wayne Johnston is a wonderful NFLD writer. His book "The Colony of Unrequited Dreams" is excellent.
He also wrote "The Divine Ryans" among other works. Very funny, made into a film iirc.
Hope you get to go. 👋
