When Dylan was nineteen, he quit his classes at the University of Minnesota and hitchhiked to NYC to join the burgeoning folk-music scene there, and to meet his hero, Woody Guthrie. Soon after his arrival, he went to Woody's house, unannounced and uninvited, and knocked on the door. The door was answered by thirteen-year-old Arlo, and the two hit it off, trading guitar and harmonica licks until Dylan could visit the ailing elder Guthrie in his sickbed.
