In assuming that it is retaliation. It isn't. It is and remains self-defense.

But assume it is retaliation for a second, putting aside the absurdity of that idea. Should Israel have then killed 1200 Palestinians and held hostage 130? Further, should they have gang-raped, sexually tortured, mutilated, burned and shot on the face the exact same number of civilians as Hamas did on Oct 7?

This is an existential fight. Hamas has promised that they will do it again and again and again . . .

Think about that. What would you be willing to do to protect your loved ones from being sexually tortured and gang raped and murdered?

I am good with the hostages being released. Hamas could do that and the killing would end. But they are not doing that.

In lieu of that, Hamas being utterly and totally destroyed sounds just fine.

Oh, by the way, was it excessive retaliation when the Allied forces killed over a million German citizens to bring down the Nazis:?
