8. There is a significant difference between the more populous general evangelical expression of faith

in the US population, and the more diverse views one encounters here on DU, I have noted.

I know many evangelicals, through work, and in public, that express a level of confidence in their relationship with Jesus/God that is completely bereft of doubt. I don't really know anyone here on DU, that has such overwhelming faith in god. None that have so clearly expressed it to me, anyway.

There may be a useful correlation to explore, between such people (who also happen to be politically right-wing) and those of us here on DU that express religious belief AND politically left-leaning ideas. That could be a mistaken observation that does not hold for the general population, but thinking back, I notice a pattern, at least among those that I know.
