It’s a religious-based pretzel bending exercise that excuses the act of lying if done for the liar’s reasoning that it benefits god.
Zealots like Hegseth, or any other Christo-fascist, follow the same rule. They think all the shitty things they do are excused as it is in the name of god - in their mind at least. Nothing can’t be forgiven - unless it’s a Democrat that does it of course.
