17. We need neoliberal votes also, what we can change is to not allow them to set policy

Two of the most popular issues Republicans now have are a reaction to neoliberal policies which the Democratic Party was totally against very recently. Importing goods from foreign countries and low wage immigration.

Throughout the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, Democrats were for restrictive low wage immigration, Barbara Jordan the civil rights icon made an exhaustive study complete with policy proposals on behalf of the Clinton administration. Too late, the corporations suborned our politicians. We were for import taxes and tariffs but partially lost support via Reagan/Bush, further from Clinton, and even more Bush II and Obama. They are using our own issues to steal our voters.
