Look at the poison being thrown at him at Democratic Underground, FFS!
He and his family have probably received hundreds if not thousands of death threats from MAGAts. Why should he paint a target on himself when "our side" hates and despises him? Not to mention anyone who dares make reasonable statements in his favor.
