17. Speaking of tepidness, today, we have people SERIOUSLY considering

Agreeing to ending the shutdown in order to restore SNAP payments.

In other words, letting the GOP take two hostages (food assistance and health care) and killing one of them. That is what some call being bipartisan and meeting Republicans halfway.

And I would point out that they didn't take 2 hostages. They took 100 hostages, such as killing half the IRS enforcement budget (the half that audits billionaires, you can be sure), new energy programs, lots of infrastructure and many other things.

We never should have said "OK you can kill all those other hostages as long as you give us the ACA subsidies back." And let's hope nobody caves in with this latest trick.
