In my opinion, it comes down to the individual politician. Bernie, for example, is progressive, even though many of the kids here (anyone under 65) would consider him old. There are some sticks in the mud, living off the fat of the land, that voters should give their pension plans, to paraphrase Muhammad Ali. People of my generation are, as an old friend who visited me today said, in the pre-dead phase of our lives, and need to recognize that the younger generations inhabit a world that is very different from the one we remember. At the same time, we need to remain focused on the fact that our music was way, way better.
