whenever we were out in the world.
As do hundreds of thousands of other mixed--disabled and non-disabled--couples.
In fact, most accessible bathrooms are in fact "unisex." Otherwise the cost of providing ADA compliant access to public toilets would double, and then you'd hear people grousing about the "expense" of access.
I would argue that throwing the disability community under the bus is neither moral nor politically astute.
