At this point in time, Trump is just a stupid old man who isn't able to make Presidential level decisions.
He's like Reagan was in his 2nd term; too deep into dementia to do the job, and being managed by the people around him.
Remember, Kushner received 2 billion dollars from Saudi Arabia for his private equity firm, and the Saudi's were lobbying the Trump government to attack Iran. Kushner would like that gravy train rolling, so he encouraged Trump to attack Iran.
