6. Seth Meyers does a recurring bit during his web-exclusive "Corrections" segments. . .

. . . In which he tries to call Andy Samburg and Samburg almost never picks up. It works because Meyers has a sincere side under his caustic, self-deprecating shtick. (Corrections is a complex, self-referential universe that requires full immersion in order to be appreciated.)

Vance can't really pull off the same "See, I don't take myself all that seriously" routine because he is dead serious about achieving his goals even to the point of selling his soul to Donald Trump after publicly equating him to Hitler. What he doesn't seem to realize yet is that he was chosen to be Trump's junior partner because he doesn't encroach on Trump's territory. If he did, he would have never received the nod in the first place.

Because Vance lacks Trump's unique-- shall we say, showmanship-- he will never be able to hold the base together when Trump's sun has set. That's not really a problem for Donald Trump, of course, because he doesn't want a successor.

Trump wants the world to end when he does.
