In the last 75 days, he has overtaken John Marshall, John Paul Stevens, and Stephen Johnson Field. He has moved up from being the 5th longest-serving Justice to the 2nd, with a tenure of 34 years and 226 days. The only one left to surpass is William O. Douglas.
