My aunt was a dyed-in-the-wool Republican. She would pass along garbage emails to me and I'd try to explain that what she sent wasn't accurate. I would send her a link to Snopes where her email was debunked and she'd shoot back that "Snopes was just another opinion." I could never get through to her.

She would complain about a specific situation that was happening in DC that she didn't like and when I would point out that Republicans were the ones pushing that, or that Republicans were in control, she would immediately pivot to "all politicians are corrupt." Any time I would point out that something she was against was being done by Republicans, she would "both sides" it.

Until the day she died, she believed that Nixon was the fall guy.
