even if they don't rise more than 80-90 ft above "lake-levels"'

It seems that the smoke here, hung low in the sky for the last couple mornings. looking up you couldn see hints of blue above the smoke

I've been wondering if the hills help the smoke "pool" into denser areas than in flat open areas, I don;t know the answer to that, I just wonder,
